Repost from 2014: Royal Photographic Society

(originally posted on my old blog in November 2014 https://joelandersonphotography.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/art-shows-will-resume-next-month/)

In other news, a few weeks ago I received my copy of the exhibition catalogue from the Royal Photographic Society’s 157th International Print Competition, the oldest photographic competition in the world.  My black and white photograph of the coal miner Farmer Bob was selected out of 7000 entries as one of the 100 photographs to be exhibited on a tour throughout galleries in England, Ireland and Wales.  That particular portrait is one of my favorite images of my career so far and I was very surprised and happy to be chosen.   I’m continuing to work on the photographs of anthracite miners here in Pennsylvania and will be adding more to the portfolio.   A good view of some of the existing images can be found here
